Our Story
Hello! I'm Robin, and while my professional titles include Postpartum Doula, Certified Lactation Counselor, and Infant Sleep Specialist, there's so much more to me. Beyond the certifications, I'm a queer wife and mama to a wild child, a collector of unique hobbies (seriously, just ask me!), and a lifelong learner always eager to explore new passions.
When my daughter arrived in July 2021, I experienced firsthand the intense need for support that new parents crave. Navigating postpartum anxiety without family nearby was incredibly tough, and the isolation of COVID only amplified those challenges. On top of that, traditional sleep training methods simply didn't resonate with me. That's when Sarah, our incredible postpartum doula, entered our lives. Her patience, calm demeanor, and wealth of evidence-based information were a lifeline. She was always there to answer our questions, helped me find the anxiety treatment I needed, and guided us toward sleep practices that truly felt right for my family. Sarah made that daunting transition into motherhood so much smoother for me.
But something else profound shifted within me during that time: a powerful passion ignited to walk alongside other birthing people as they embark on their own unique motherhood journeys.
My background as a classroom educator seamlessly translates into my doula work. Coaching parents, fostering community, and actively listening are all skills that are essential not just for nurturing tiny humans, but for supporting mental well-being too. That's why I'm here: to support and educate new and expectant parents like you about normal infant sleep, development, and care during those precious early days, weeks, and months. I bring patience, understanding, and a calming presence to every family I work with. My ultimate goal is to equip you with the tools and confidence to tackle any parenting challenges that come your way, leaving you feeling empowered and supported every single step of your journey.
Our Approach
At Wild Child Sleep, we take a whole-family approach. Our methods are all about attachment, evidence-based practices, and gentle guidance. Sure, there might be some grumbles along the way, but we strongly believe babies and toddlers should never cry it out alone. We consider everyone's needs – your little one's and your whole family's – when we support you in your home or craft a sleep plan. Responsive parenting doesn't have to mean constant struggle.
As your postpartum doula, we're here to lighten your load in all sorts of ways. We can teach you about infant care, lend a hand with everyday tasks around the house, and even offer some much-needed parent-care. We want you to feel supported, physically, emotionally, and with all the knowledge you need to navigate those precious early days.
